Canaan Acres Christian Camp, Inc. is a ministry of the East Ohio District Church of the Nazarene. A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service since 1963.

Canaan Acres was founded in a “leap of faith”  in 1954 as the district center for the Akron District Church of the Nazarene when ninety acres of wooded and scrub land were purchased north of Louisville, Ohio. Canaan Acres has grown much since its humble beginnings, but the mission remains the same today.

The camp is still central to the life of the Nazarene Church in Northeast Ohio and continues to reach out as a haven for other Christian ministries and organizations looking for a place to fellowship, camp and have retreats in a safe, friendly environment surrounded by nature.
